This was an experiment in subtlety. I’ve noticed the low contrast in a number of ‘70s style pinup photos I like. I tried replicating that in my recent work. I’m making more +1 and -2 adjustments instead of +10 or -8. I have to make the edit and wait for my eyes to adjust to see the change. It’s a nice diversion from what I was previously producing. Sorting these photos also had a few challenges. Laura made a number of subtle facial expressions. Each different from the other and each with its own merit. It was a little difficult selecting the right one. That’s a talent I look for in a model. The more facial expressions, the better. That’s what makes the photo work. You know you have something special when you see a beautiful face and you think, “I’d sooo jump off a building for you!” (Just a common figure of speech.) @samsanchezphoto
