Although it looks like there’s a message, there isn’t. We weren’t trying to make a statement about dancing on a grave or death and grace. We just thought it would be cool to shoot in a cemetery and leotards are just damn sexy. That’s it. @samsanchezphoto

CHARLOTTE 3408

CHARLOTTE 3408

This is the first time we worked together. She answered my ad on MM and we scheduled a shoot. Charlotte is one of the best models I’ve ever worked with. She photographs so well and was open to experimentation which made the shoot a lot of fun. This photo is the result of one such experiment. Charlotte was putting on the heels when I asked if I could take a photo. At first I tried using the monolight which gave it a “certain” look. Then I thought let’s just jack the ASA and shoot with the onboard flash. I was shooting with a Canon 10MM-18MM wide angle lens. It did what I expected in exaggerating the angles. What I didn’t expect was the asymetric image distortion somewhere between the middle and edge of the lens. I added some grain and darkened the whole thing. Score! I got my sexy-disturbing-uncomfortable photo. I couldn’t have done it without Charlotte. It was a true collaboration. She’s an authentic artist and I’m hoping to work with her again. @samsanchezphoto

The face always makes the photo. Her expression cuts right through your soul. We never had a chance. Either that, or she just photographs well and I was the lucky shooter to work with her that night. @samsanchezphoto

BRAWDIE 3029

BRAWDIE 3029. We made this last night. I finished it today. I knew I had captured my ’70s Penthouse vibe when I saw it on the LCD after the click. I intentionally kept the contrast low and even darkened it a bit. I added some grain for that “halftone” look. @samsanchezphoto
