Gwen contacted me out of the blue recently. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the message. Gwen was my first professional nude model I ever shot. This photo is from our only shoot. It still stops me in my tracks 14 years later. There’s still something about her that just melts me every time. I’ve edited this photo in so many different ways over the years. I found this t-shirt at a toy show. The vendor makes the coolest designs. I’m guessing most people won’t recognize Lexi Belle or the Richard Avery photo but I did. I thought it was great that an iconic image like this made it onto a t-shirt. The guys at the booth said they tell people she’s Miley Cyrus. I wasn’t sure when it would be appropriate to wear the shirt in public but then I thought it might make a fun wardrobe item in a shoot. Theresa was a good sport to model the shirt. @samsanchezphoto

She has some modeling experience and takes direction well and is easy to work with. Oh! And she photographs well. I’m hoping to work with her again. I’ve discovered that I’m gravitating towards images with little color. This could mean monochrome or desaturated color. This was a candid of Laurie shot in a hotel room. I like her expression. It’s spooky, intense, and sexy. The giant soft light surrounding the mirror and the adjacent white walls give everyone an instant makeover. All this made me think of a Kubrick-esque shot. @samsanchezphoto
I wanted to prove to myself that it’s the subject that matters and not the location. It wasn’t difficult to make a great photo with Carina. She always photographs so well regardless of the location. (I wanted to use the word “irregardless” but that would probably aggravate her.) @samsanchezphoto
