TECHNICOLOR TUTU

I had a few reservations when Carina pitched me on shooting with her multi colored tutu. I thought it might work in monochrome with the contrast pushed up but otherwise I didn’t see it as a good wardrobe item. I equated it to a rainbow wig, something I didn’t want to shoot with either. Boy, was I wrong. Carina has that magic to make props and costumes work. She really brought it to life with her talent and grace. But that doesn’t mean the rainbow wig is back on the menu. BTW, I didn’t know Tutu Tuesday was a thing until I saw it on Instagram. The more you know… @samsanchezphoto

SHE SAID NO

Sometimes a beautiful model and a single light is alls you need. Carina needed headshots recently. I suggested this one. She shot it down and chose another. It’s cool. I really liked this one and got the green light to publish it. It’s simple and beautiful (because of Carina). @samsanchezphoto

TINA 0317

This is a candid portrait of Tina. She recently had a birthday. I like to have some textures and character in the portrait instead of “plastic” skin. I think it adds a lot to the picture. This was shot with my Canon EOS M100 with the onboard flash pointed at the ceiling. @samsanchezphoto

WORKING

It’s always a pleasure to work with Amanda. She can easily create a number of different poses per minute. I often have to end session or we’ll end up with 500 different images in one look and they’ll all be selects. It takes artistic creativity, strength, and flexibility to make the pose like this one. I always appreciate her talent. @samsanchezphoto
