This was shot in a recording studio in Potrero Hill. That was a fun place to shoot. There were so many locations like the stairwell, the isolation booth, the control room, the live room, the lounge, and this kitchen. The studio is gone because the building is gone. The owner decided to cash out and sell the lot to a developer to make condos. I added some grain to give it a ‘70s Penthouse magazine look. @samsanchezphoto

One of the best models I’ve ever worked with. She’s a master at facial expressions and poses. It’s difficult to choose the selects in post. I’ve always thought Uggs are sexy. The mesh top creates a nice texture. The undies are hers. I added some grain to give it a ’70s Penthouse magazine look. @samsanchezphoto

This started out as a juxtaposition between a beautiful model in a gritty auto repair shop. She was centered in the frame and a work table was visible on the right. Then I cropped it and it turned into a strong girl image. She’s not afraid or intimidated by the encroaching cars. She’s actually stopping them and holding her ground. This could be a metaphor for so many things today. Then again it could just be a photo of Jordanlehn in a Ninja Scroll t-shirt in an auto repair shop with an off-center crop. @samsanchezphoto

CARINA 2371

We found this hat in the studio. Following the international rules of studio photography, anything you find in the studio may be used in a photo. I used the brand new Texture control in Lightroom for this one. It’s basically Clarity-lite. It did a nice job of smoothing things out just a wee bit. That and Dehaze – which is becoming my favorite brightness & contrast tool – brought the monochromatic tones to life. The most important element is Carina herself. She alone made the photo happen. She always do. @samsanchezphoto

She’s the type of model that can totally improvise on set and come up with hundreds of great poses. You have to stop her and move on to the next look or you’ll wind up with a post-production nightmare when you’re sorting and selecting. I enjoyed working with her.  @samsanchezphoto

GWEN 3869

Gwen is the face of Sam Sanchez Photography. She has been for a while now. I recently had some new business cards printed and decided to include my IG handle. All the cool kids are there you know. I never tire of seeing her face and now I can share it and pass it around. Others that were under consideration were Apnea, Carina, and Alison. I thought about printing multiple versions but it takes years to get rid of these cards. @samsanchezphoto
