Just another shot with that brown jacket. I want to retire it but it’s always the jacket I grab when I’m going out the door. The lining is starting to completely rip apart but I can still use it for my shoots. A common theme in my work is taking a common piece of clothing and making it sexy. One of these prints will be on display at the San Mateo County Fair starting on June 8. I decided to print all the selects. I figured one of them would jump out at me as “the one”. That didn’t happen. I had to look at them over several days and it was still a difficult decision. The two photos of Rose are a little different from each other. One of them has more grain. OCTOBER 4175. I couldn’t wait to post this. Recently, I visited October in Providence Rhode island. It’s a modern dark decor & spiritual lifestyle shop. What a fascinating store! They were burning incense. The shopkeeper was friendly and greeted us. I loved the design and flow of the interior. The stock was clean and well displayed. My daughter called it the witch store. I thought that was cool. This is the shopkeeper. She had a great look. I asked her if I could take a photo of her in the store and she graciously agreed. If I were staying in the area for a longer period of time, I would’ve asked her to do a shoot. We could’ve created a lot of iconic images. She looked confident and comfortable in her own skin. Two qualities I admire in a model and, really, anyone. @samsanchezphoto
THERESA 0070. Back Seat Betty was a rock’n’roll apparel store in the Haight. I used to go there when I had a band together back in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s but I don’t recall buying anything except this t-shirt. I was planning on wearing it for a show but I kinda forgot about it. Would it be undignified for a 56 year old man to wear that in public? Would it look like a post-mid-life crises? Would it look like an old man trying to relive his ’80s rock’n’roll days? I think I could get away with wearing it but then again, it looks better on Theresa.
