CORIANDER 034

This digital photo originated in color with her head and shoulders in the frame. Coriander is very pretty but I thought the photo was boing. I converted it to monochrome to make it unboring. It didn’t work. I added grain. That was a step in the right direction but the photo needs something more. Next, I decided to lighten her eyes. When I zoomed in, it created a closeup crop. That is what made the photo work with the Tony Ward-style grain. Total time: 7 minutes. @samsanchezphoto

MARY 364

This is one photo from a photo story where the model, in this case Mary, improvises with a 3 foot ribbon. I asked her to use the prop and see where it took her. She did an excellent job. I decided the photo worked best as a digital grainy monochrome. This is a little homage to Tony Ward, one of my influences in this type of art. The entire photo story will be posted another time in another place. @samsanchezphoto
