THE BLESSING

Sometimes the portrait goddess smiles on you. This happened on an outdoor shoot with my favorite model. Carina was leaning over at just the right angle. The sun was hitting her at the just the right angle. And I happened to be pointing my camera in just the right direction. I captured the shot but Carina made the photo. Her smile and radiance really came through. I just pressed the button and did a wee bit of editing. Just wee bit. @samsanchezphoto

BROKEN DOLL

This is the poor man’s version of a Helmut Newton concept. He used actual medical devices made of surgical steel to straighten legs and immobilize necks. I’m using devices that can be bought on sale at CVS. This is the first time I worked with Lucy. I met her on Instagram. Lucy is an outstanding model. Very easy to work with and very professional. This photo series is also my first collaboration with Carina as my creative partner. I asked her to be a PA on the shoot. She did that and added a lot of creative input. I’m looking forward to making more photos with her from behind and in front of the camera. This SFW photo is a collaboration between the three of us. @samsanchezphoto

FIGHT AND FLIGHT

Carina makes the best best facial expressions. This was the last set of the day. She can jump really high. I love that combination of rage coupled with the uncontrolled emotion in her leap. Another reason why she’s my favorite model and creative partner. I think I’m doing my best work with her. @samsanchezphoto

DEANNA DEADLY 204

I was talking to my favorite model about how great it is to photograph latex. She doesn’t own any latex (yet) but it got me thinking about the models I worked with who owned latex outfits. Deanna Deadly came to mind. We did a latex shoot a while back. When I reviewed the sets, I discovered this portrait. I know it has nothing to do with latex but I liked the shot and decided to show it to you. @samsanchezphoto

LAURIE

This is part of an ongoing photo story using the black leather jacket and boots. I like to see how different models work with the wardrobe items. I like how this came out. Laurie’s lovely smile and pretty face contrast well with the outfit. Laurie is not a model but did an outstanding job. I added my digital Tri-X editing moves to give it a little more grit. @samsanchezphoto
