After seeing Angelina Jolie in a full military uniform and wearing an eyepatch in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004 A.D.), I developed a thing for eyepatches on models. There’s something really sexy about that prop. Just to be clear, I don’t have a thing for models with missing eyes. Amanda is so much more than a model. She is a true artist. I showed her a basic sword pose and she took it from there. She embraced the props and created this character right before my eyes. This is one of the few SFW images I can post here without getting my account closed. Amanda brought this concept to life. I have the highest degree of respect and admiration for her and her abilities. (OK, I know I gushed a little there at the end. Forgive me.) @samsanchezphoto

TINA’S ENVIRONMENT

I normally don’t shoot environmental portraits because I’m rarely in a subject’s environment. This was a rare moment. Tina is an artist and wine fan. If you look carefully, you can see her ceramics in the frame. This was shot using the onboard flash on my trusty Canon EOS M100 pointed at the ceiling. I like the way the textures and colors came out. @samsanchezphoto

I never get tired of looking at Gwen. This is the photo you fall in love with. Actually, for me, it’s pretty much any photo of her. I make the exception for her sploshing photos with @kroll.eric , and only because I keep thinking, “Damn! This is going to be a helluva cleanup!” @samsanchezphoto

Uschi hit me up for some headshots. I was glad to help her out. Since I had her in the studio and the light was already set up, I asked her if she wanted to do a little shoot. The answer was yes. This is one of my favorites. I love the smile on her face. It really lights up the frame. It’s kinda’ cool knowing a few models that I can call on to make some photos. @samsanchezphoto

One of the most fascinating models I’ve ever worked with. Muse is a model, recording artist, and fashion designer. We had a great conversation about her work. She shared her views on her raw food diet. It was an enjoyable shoot. She’s a true professional. One of the best things about practicing this art is meeting new people and getting to know them.
