I was a Speed Racer fan back in the early ’70s when channel 44 would show two episodes back to back after school. It was an exciting show. This photo combines two things I love: Speed Racer and pinup photography. I know that makes little sense but we get to see a photo of Vivi in a Speed Racer shirt. @samsanchezphoto

This came out with a “spiritual” vibe. That was not the message in making this photo. In fact, none of my photos have any intentional messages but sometimes it just turns out that way in the end. Ariane was a lot of fun to work with. We only worked together once and then she moved away. I don’t think that was the reason for her relocation. A few years later, I found her again in Couples: An Eclectic View, a book by photographer Max Fallon. He was doing a book signing and everybody was ignoring him in the store. I saw he was a photographer and started talking to him about the book and his project. That’s when I found Ariane with her girlfriend. I bought the book. Unfortunately, it’s no longer in print but it’s well worth finding a used copy. @samsanchezphoto

This is my entry in the San Mateo County Fair Black & White Portrait (no overt nudes) Category. It should be on display beginning June 8 unless they dropped it. If you see my print at the fair, let me know what you think. This was a really hard choice. I liked each one of the selects (see previous post). It kinda feels like I had numerous women interested in me but I had to pick one. That has never happened. Usually it’s me just trying to get one woman interested in me without the use of drugs, alcohol, or blackmail. That is a joke. Kinda like my dating life before I got married. @samsanchezphoto
