Mac 090

Mac is of the best models I ever worked with. She has that ’70s look I absolutely love. I wanted to bring out her beautiful warm skin tones to play nice with the red heels. The idea was to get the viewer to totally fall for her. It worked on me. Did it work on you? @samsanchezphoto

BRAWDIE 2214

This photo didn’t require much editing. It’s also the only photo I made of the pose during our shoot. I knew I had my shot when I saw it in the viewfinder. I didn’t need to shoot this pose at a hundred different angles, elevations, or compositions. Brawdie is totally killing it in those leggings and boots. I was really after her beautiful hair and her back. Everything else came along for the ride. It took one click to capture everything. @samsanchezphoto

I’VE GOT ONE TOO: CARINA 0049.

@marcmascotphotographer is a Jedi in capturing facial expressions. He recently posted yet another great photo. My first thought was, “Damn! That guy is really good!”. My second thought was, “Hey! I think I might have one too.”. This photo makes me think of all the great work I created with Carina this year. She has been my model, my muse, and creative partner. I choose this photo as my end of the year posting to commemorate that and say thank you to her for a great year and all the great facial expressions. @samsanchezphoto

AGFA 6: CARINA 0207

Back in the ’70s, Agfa made a grade “6” black and white photographic paper (they started their numbering at 0 instead of 1). Agfa 6 was a high contrast paper that made nearly everything look cool. I still remember that look and that is what you see here. Enough of the boring technical nonsense. Carina made this photo happen. Her dance training totally worked in the story of this photo. Does anyone ever really dance on someone’s grave? I wouldn’t. I’d just think, “Good riddance.” and go do something else. @samsanchezphoto

GWENDOLYN 325

I was going to post this later tonight but I need a pleasant diversion now from all the office work I had to do all day. Gwendolyn was a great model. This was her idea to use the stockings this way. She was very creative and photographed well. Unfortunately we were not able to work together again. At the time of this shoot, I had a lot of client work lined up and couldn’t fit her in. Maybe I should reach out her now (although several years have passed)? @samsanchezphoto
