Lii Lii can actually walk in those ballet boots. She was a fun model to work with. She had a lot of ideas and photographed beautifully. That’s Amanda wearing the Spider-man boxing gloves. It had been awhile since I shot with the moonlights. I like the shadows and contrast but the stereotypical male in me wants to flood the set with light so I can see every detail. I wonder if other pinup photographers have this internal conflict? @samsanchezphoto
I have a special respect and admiration for non-models. They are very brave. I think it takes a great deal of courage to do an art nude photo shoot. They are not only physically exposing themselves to the camera but they have to trust the photographer to make the photo. Lauren is one such model. She had never done a shoot like this but she trusted me. I take that trust seriously. We worked within her limitations (as usual) and created a number of excellent photos. I edited this photo differently from my other work. I felt it looked better in low contrast due to the warm tones. @samsanchezphoto
This image reminds me of a photo of Jean Shrimpton shot by David Bailey in the 60’s. As soon as I saw Carina in my camera, I knew I had my shot. I had envisioned this as a monochrome. I did a little bit of editing to make the tones but this is all her. I just pressed the button. Carina is an excellent model and collaborator. She’s also stunning. @samsanchezphoto
This is Deanna Deadly from our latex pinup shoot. Latex is fun to shoot. It hugs the body and reflects the light well. I bought those boots on closeout. Deanna had the eyepatch and purse. There was no doubt that we were meant to work with each other. @samsanchezphoto
Speaking of men’s briefs, here’s a shot of Amanda in a pair of white briefs. I love how she brought my concept to life. I basically shoot what I think is sexy. It’s usually one wardrobe item on a plain background with a single light. I like to keep things simple because it’s the model that will make the picture work. Amanda always does that.
